Welcoming Procedures

Visiting locums are well-supported and welcomed to the community. The office manager at the clinic will handle many of the arrangements and logistics including scheduling, accommodations, and orientations. New locums will receive a welcome gift from the facility engagement team. The Vanderhoof medical community is very collegial and friendly.

Orientation

New locums are offered an orientation to the relevant hospital department by one of the current physicians. If the locum is going to work at the Omineca Medical Clinic, we arrange EMR training and assist in welcoming new physicians to the office.

Social Involvement

The Vanderhoof physicians and the staff at St. John Hospital are very friendly and supportive to locums. Most locums have had very positive experiences in Vanderhoof. The team is collegial and welcoming. As a teaching site, Vanderhoof often has an R1 and an R2 Resident and many medical students from the NMP who come to do electives.
