About the Clinic
Clinic Description
Clinic Composition
1 Physician, 1 home care nurse (Palliative), office staff, 2 exam rooms, 1 ER treatment room,
Local Resources
Lab - 1 x week, Island Health Counsellor,
Emergency Framework
BCAS, Ambulance, fire hall. 1 community paramedic, fully equipped emerg treatment room, Water and air ambulance
Call Expectations
1:4 -24 hours (8am - 8am) as per on call group usually Wednesday or Thursday (Once a week) One weekend per month.
CME Schedule
No formal CME
Visiting Specialist/Consultant Information
Telehealth is available for geriatrics, home visits, palliative care. In real virtual Physiotherapy, most referrals go to Victoria, audiologist, massage therapist

Locum is welcomed by clinic staff on arrival

Comprehensive e-mail with all the clinic information and hours, passwords, MOA's contact details, orientation of the clinic.

Local paper which lists upcoming events.
Clinic Policy
Locums are expected to leave detailed notes. Opioids are counted before and after a visiting physician is in the clinic, paper and transfer via BCAS and PTN

Sail via BC Ferries. Personal vehicle is a requirement. once on island there is no taxi or rental cars.
