A rural physician is seeking a locum for two weeks in late spring 2026. This is an excellent time to visit our community — local snowbirds are returning, tourism season is beginning, and the weather is outstanding, creating a busy and engaging practice environment.
The locum will work in a brand-new health centre with a private office and two exam rooms. The facility includes a range of on-site services:
Hearing clinic
Perinatal and lactation support
Therapeutic foot care nurse
Massage therapy
Acupuncture
Osteopathy
Physiotherapy
This is a great opportunity to experience a vibrant rural practice in a modern, fully equipped setting.

The locum will work in a brand-new health centre with a private office and two exam rooms.
There are 6 exam rooms n total, and a procedure room.

Private Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Speech and Hearing (preschool age), Licensed Child Care, Occupational Therapy by referral, Optometrist, Dentists, Chiropractor, Acupuncture
Emergency Framework
We manage minor emergencies on site, have BC Ambulance 24/7 stationed 3 blocks away. We also have highly skilled land and water volunteer rescue societies. We have both a lakeside and central park helipad for emergency airlifting rescues

Level of Support/Care and Policy
Welcoming Procedures
Welcomed by the District of Sicamous Community Health Centre Manager, Karen Eastland, for a pre introduction to the clinic, practitioners and staff.
Orientation
Orientation pre start day given by the Health Centre Manager and MOA for Locum when available, along with presentation of pertinent information on office practice routines,
Emergency kits, billing support, referral lists and resources.
Social Involvement
Arrangements can be made for experiences within the cultural, historical and recreational environment depending on interests. Could involve biking, hiking, boating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling etc.
Arrange meet and greet events with local colleagues and stakeholder groups.
Clinic Policy
No opioids or narcotics on site, triplicate policies, urgent care management, emergency procedures and protocols. Walk-in appointments available daily.
Accommodation and Transportation
The clinic does provide accommodation.
Accommodation Description
The District of Sicamous will arrange for accommodation as needed. Accommodation varies according to the time of year and availability, but is vetted through AirBnB or Vacation Rental Specialist.
