Role and Facility Information
We are looking for full OR coverage for the duration of your visit, including all elective/urgent/emergent surgeries including obstetrical analgesia (epidurals/intrathecals). This would also include after hours and weekend coverage. Our anesthesia service also provides critical care support to our ER colleagues and to the hospital. This includes but not limited to out-of-OR airway support to ER/hospital, resuscitations (adult/pediatric/neonatal) and trauma support.
This team of GP’s and GP Specialists work in a collaborative team to support each other in clinical and academic activities to provide the best level of patient care in the north and one of the uniqueness of the anesthesia team is that they offer close supports to fellow FPA colleagues, especially those who are new to practice.

Omineca Medical Clinic is a busy rural family practice comprised of 12 Physicians and one NP. In addition to family medicine at the Clinic, many of our Physicians practice full-service rural medicine which includes working at St. John Hospital.

Welcoming Procedures
Locums are supported and welcomed to the community by the Physicians and the Clinic Office Manager. We provide assistance with housing, orientation, scheduling, and all other logistics. We are happy to look after various details and arrangements.
Orientation
GPAs will be provided with orientation and mentoring (as desired) by the permanent GPAs in community. Hospital (OR/ER orientations) are arranged at St. John Hospital.
Social Involvement
The Vanderhoof Physician team is very friendly, collegial, and supportive. We have worked with many different locum Physicians and enjoy welcoming new colleagues to the team. As a teaching site, we often have a R2 Resident and / or a year 3 or 4 medical student.
Vanderhoof is a friendly rural community with lots of good amenities, stores, restaurants, sports facilities, and activities. Located an hour away and an easy drive down Hwy 16, from the Northern capital of Prince George.
