Clinic Description

Clinic Composition

Integrated clinic including physicians, a nurse practitioner, nurses, counsellors, social workers, medical exercise specialists and a large supporting office staff.

Local Resources

Lab, x-ray, 2 pharmacies, extended care, home nursing, dietetics, mental health and addictions, social workers, community outreach.

Emergency Framework

Ambulance including Air Ambulance services.

Call Expectations

Permanent physicians work a rotation of 1:6 with 24 hours on call from 8am to 8am

Locums are eligible for MOCAP and REEF.

Visiting Specialist/Consultant Information

Quarterly visits from specialists practicing in physical medicine & rehab, dermatology and internal medicine. Regular weekly telehealth visits with a rheumatologist.

What training is provided for the EMR System

Training is provided on the first day by IT. Friendly support staff available during clinic hours for any questions that may come up.

Level of Support/Care and Policy

Welcoming Procedures

Locums are met by clinic staff on day of arrival. They are given a quick tour of town and shown where the clinic and hospital are located. They are then rescored to the locum accommodation.

Orientation

First morning orientated at hospital by the on call physician. Then clinic orientation and MOIS training.

Social Involvement

Locum receives pass to local gym (MXV Gym)

Clinic Policy

Regular office hours are Mon-Fri 9am-4pm closed 12pm-1pm for lunch, closed all statutory holidays.

Appointments are booked at 20 minutes intervals, with some 30 minute appointments throughout the day.

Acute Care Clinic is operated daily from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. Physicians all rotate through the acute care clinic, with one physician in the morning and one in the afternoon being responsible for the patients.

Any MOCAP or REEF questions can be directed to the Clinic Manager.

A fully furnished 3 bedroom condo, with great views of Stuart Lake and its amazing sunsets. Accommodation is a quick 5 minute walk from the MXV gym, the Save On Foods, both pharmacies and the rest of what main street has to offer!

Fly via Air Canada, West Jet, Northern Thunderbird Air and Central Mountain Air to Prince George Airport.

Car Rentals National and Budget are located at the airport.
